Steve and Mary McDowall set up Atlantic Golf Holidays in 2003. Mary had discovered the Costa de la Luz in 2001 when, in her previous role as a holiday Tour Leader, she had run a number of golf trips to the area. At that time there were hardly any other British companies visiting the region, but Mary recognised the potential there and that this would change over the years.

Prior to setting up the company, Steve had worked for 27 years for BT where he was involved in a selection of management roles, most of which included direct work with customers. On his retirement in 2003, they decided to set up Atlantic Golf Holidays, utilising Mary’s knowledge of the travel industry, Steve’s customer service skills and their combined knowledge of and passion for the area.

Now firmly established, Atlantic Golf Holidays continues to grow. We are enjoying selling golf holidays to an area of Spain that we both love and feel confident that others will enjoy. We know all the courses and hotels that we feature, and are happy to recommend any of them.

We have now extended our holiday portfolio to offer Portugal, Turkey, Morocco, Bulgaria and some wonderful UK Coastal Golf Breaks taking advantage of some excellent courses around the UK (with no euros required!).

We are, of course, both keen golfers, belonging to a club in North London. Unfortunately neither of us will ever be scratch golfers, but we will never give up trying!!
