There is a local shopping centre within easy walking distance with various shops, bars and restaurants. In addition Chiclana de la Frontera is closeby where you can enjoy a more traditional evening out. For a day off from golf, take a drive to the towns of Cadiz and Jerez or to Vejer de la Frontera, a beautiful old white Spanish walled village set high up in the hills.

Sherry Golf

Sherry Golf Jerez Golf Resort opened in 2004 and has quickly earned a fine reputation. The course runs up and down a long sloping landscape and features a number of attractive lakes and plenty of strategically placed bunkers, but with gorgeous views over the surrounding sherry growing vineyards to take your mind off them! One bunker has been created in the shape of a horses’ head in reference to the world famous performing horses of the region. A challenging, but fair course for golfers of all levels, with excellent practice facilities and also a 9 hole par 3 course.

Designed by Jose Maria Olazabal and opened in 1997, this predominantly parkland course has matured quickly and now has a fine reputation as one of Andalucia’s most challenging venues. The course runs alongside 4 kilometres of the Atlantic beach and is a flat, easily walkable course, with a number of water features adding to the challenge. Its wide open fairways give you plenty of scope to go for it, however the wind often comes into play so beware!

Arcos Gardens

The beautiful Arcos Gardens Golf Club opened in autumn 2006 and has quickly gained an impressive reputation. Described as golf and nature in perfect harmony, the views from the course are stunning with its dramatic backdrop of the historic white city of Arcos de la Frontera. The course is a fine test for all standards of golfer. Relatively short, with generous fairways, the challenge lies in finding the well-protected, fast greens as well as avoiding the lake, rock gardens and meandering river – easy!

Novo Sancti Petri

This 54 hole golf complex has something for everybody. The original 36 holes, designed by Seve Ballesteros, are close to the sea, with some of the holes overlooking the magnificent La Barrosa beach. A further 18 holes has now been added further inland (shuttle bus provided from the clubhouse). All of the courses are mainly parkland, and relatively flat, making them easily walkable. The challenge lies in avoiding some interesting water hazards and the numerous old olive trees, made all the harder when the wind blows!

Villanueva

This 18 hole course opened at the end of spring 2006 and has become a good holiday track. The course, which is relatively flat and easily walkable, has an interesting variety of holes, with a number of dog-legs interspersed with several dangerous water hazards. The course is always well-maintained, and has been specifically designed to build up to an impressive climax; the spectacular final two holes are a par-3 and par-5 where the expanses of water will test the nerve of every golfer at the end of their round.
